Avengers: Endgame has set a benchmark in the entertainment industry worldwide. And the characters in the movie have helped shape a generation over the 11-year span of their existence- both, heroes, and in some cases, even the villains. One such character was Loki, the God of Mischief, the adopted brother of Thor. His journey started in Thor as a villain, but it ended (or so it seems) in Avengers: Infinity War, as a hero. The character development was huge, and it left an imperishable, significant impact.
After his death in Avengers: Infinity War, all the Loki stans (including me!) were desperately hoping that he would return in Avengers: Endgame. Everyone was almost sure he faked his death yet again, considering his previous record, which made his return more probable. And he did return, but not in the way we wanted him to.
After Avengers: Endgame, Marvel has some compelling and exciting plans for Phase 4. And the big screen isn’t going to be the only platform we will see Phase 4 play out. Marvel Studios is currently laying the groundwork to launch a number of TV Series on Disney’s upcoming streaming platform, Disney+. And one of those series is going to revolve around Loki. Whoops! A book on Loki is set to come out soon. What’s more is that we will soon have a brand new comic book, again, revolving around Loki.
The Loki TV Series
Tom Hiddleston is expected to return as Loki in the Disney+ series. Although, the magnitude of his involvement in the series is still quite unclear. The plotline of the series is also hazy. Some rumors point towards an alternate reality/timeline following Loki’s escape along with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame. Other rumors state that the series will show us Loki’s influence on the humans throughout history- while he’s in disguise, of course. But this theory seems less likely to happen. Especially considering the fact that it’s almost confirmed that the events of Disney+ series could be directly tied to MCU’s 4th phase. Another theory suggests that the series will pick up right where Avengers: Endgame left off. Meaning, according to this theory, Loki did not actually die in Avengers: Infinity War. Well, this seems more than likely to happen, considering Loki’s previous record.
Loki: Where Mischief Lies
What’s most exciting about this book is the fact that Loki is canonically pansexual an gender fluid in this book. Marvel’s doing something really different with this one. Mackenzie Lee has penned the book while Stephanie Hans created the cover. You can glorify your shelves with this book on the 3rd of September this year.

The Loki Comic Book Series
The Loki comic book series will be a spin-off of yet another comic book series, War of the Realms. Interestingly enough, he comes back from the dead in the comic, too. God of Mischief? Nah, more like, the God of Resurrection. But instead of resurrecting others, he resurrects himself. According to Marvel, we will see Loki struggling with “a whole new set of responsibilities” in this comic book series. Daniel Kibblesmith is the writer, and Oscar Bazaldua is the artist for this series. What piqued the audience’s interest was the fact that Loki is juggling Thor’s hammer on the cover. Seems like someone is suddenly worthy.
Marvel Entertainment is going to launch the comic book series in July.
The future seems anything but dark for Loki after Avengers: Endgame, and not just in the MCU, but Marvel in general. Marvel’s future plans promise a maddening, worrisome amount of Loki’s mischief for all Loki stans. What else could we ever want?
